Unmasked - Unbiased Reviews of Masks

Hedley and Bennett

Hedley and Bennett Wake up and Fight masks have a lot of things I look for in a mask. The masks are multiple layers of cotton or cotton/poly, with an easy to access pocket for filter insertion. You can choose from three color options or a multi-pack. The masks come in a one-size fit all option that are contoured, with behind-the-ear elastic that is not adjustable. When I purchased mine in early May, the masks did not include a nose piece. I liked that they included a non-obtrusive tag so you could label your name. They send an email with an FAQ and instructions for how to make a filter. They donate one mask for every mask purchased. The company is based in Los Angeles and masks are made in the US and Colombia.

I wore one of these masks today and found the bumpiness of the seams around the nose to be irritating, especially for long periods. This must have been the longest I have worn this mask because I hadn’t noticed it on 15 minute errands to the grocery store before. Also, the elastic had to really be tucked into the space behind my ear to stay put for longer than 10-15 minutes. I did notice I could talk without the mask riding up though.
